Member Removal

"Member removal" is the process of deleting a member from Taughts DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization). The following actions are normally taken in order to terminate a member:

  1. Request: The targeted member is asked to be removed by another member or the DAO's governing body. Infractions of the DAO's rules, unethical behavior, or other factors may have led to the request.

  2. Investigation: The removal request is looked into to see if the claim is true and to acquire proof.

  3. Voting: If the DAO members decide that the removal request is legitimate, they vote on whether or not to remove the targeted member. Voting may take place using a decentralized voting platform or a smart contract in some DAOs, while it may also take place through a more centralized platform in others.

  4. Quorum: According to the DAO's governance rules, the member cannot be removed until a certain threshold of votes, or quorum, in support of the removal is met.

  5. Threshold: A certain number of votes—referred to as the threshold—must be cast in favour of the member's removal in addition to the quorum requirement.

  6. Removal: The targeted member is expelled from the DAO and is denied access to its resources and systems if the quorum and threshold are met.

To sum up, the procedure for expelling a member from Taughts DAO include making a request, having the request investigated, and then having a vote among the members, with the member being expelling if the requirements for a quorum and a threshold are reached.
